Statement: Support For the Protestors in Iran

On September 16th, Mahsa Amini was brutally murdered by police in Iran for the crime of simply removing her hijab. Iranians took to the streets to protest this injustice en masse, and many of those brave Iranians have now also lost their lives.

Freedom of religion and the freedom to protest one's government are core liberal values. No state has the right to kill its citizens for exercising those rights peacefully. The Center for New Liberalism stands with the people of Iran, as they struggle against a repressive regime taking away their fundamental rights.
